Which Samsung displays work with hosted MagicInfo?

In short: Samsung commercial signage displays (the ones with a built-in signage player, called SoC or Tizen displays) work, and so do Samsung players that run MagicInfo. Consumer TVs do not.

What works

Older Tizen displays (Tizen 4.0, for example QB13R-T)Yes, with limitsConnects. A few features differ on older models.
Older Samsung signage displays on SSSP (Tizen 2.4 and 3.0 generations)OftenSSSP is the older name for Samsung's signage platform. Support depends on the model and firmware. For anything older, contact support with the model.

Models we have seen working

These Samsung models are connected to our server today, with Tizen versions from Samsung's platform data:

Model seriesTizen
QB13R-T4.0
QB50B, QB55B6.5
QM43C, QM50C7.0
QB43C7.0
OH55DXreports 8.0 in firmware name; platform is closer to 6.5

This list shows what is in use, not a limit. Other models on the same platforms behave the same way.

How to find your model and firmware

  1. Model name: printed on the label on the back of the display (for example QM50C). On the display, open Menu > Support > Contact Samsung. "Product Information" shows the Model Code and Serial Number. Older models may use a different menu.
  2. Firmware version: on the same screen, shown as "Software Version". Firmware names often start with T- or S- followed by letters that identify the platform.
  3. Tizen version: look up your model in Samsung's documentation, or send us the model and we will tell you.

Practical notes

  • Secure connection required. Our server uses TLS on port 443. A few very old models cannot connect securely. If yours is one of them, there is no setting that fixes it; updating firmware sometimes helps. See the troubleshooting checklist.
  • Keep firmware current, within what Samsung offers for your model. Update during a quiet period, not while content is publishing.
  • After a firmware update, a display occasionally needs a power cycle (off at the power switch, then on) before it reconnects.

Not sure?

Send your display model and firmware version to support@micloud.center before you buy. You can also use the free trial to connect one screen first.
